I smoked from 1970 to 1990 but have now been smoke free longer than I had smoked. There is a nicotine anonymous group operative nationwide but I did it by following the suggestions of my current other 12 step program sponsor who had already quit several years before. It involved use of a gratitude list containing reasons why I wanted to quit and remain smoke free, developing a list of friends in my program who had successfuilly kicked the practice and basically being willing to go to any length to stop and stay quit. Thankfully, it really works and I've had much fewer sinus infections since that decision was made. It's also nice to have gotten back my senses of taste and smell...and no more bronchitis!
