Mike, Looks like you were at Sabino Canyon. We used to go down there, and lay on those big rocks after being in the water. Imagine people still do it the way we would sometimes, sans clothes. Believe it or not, that canyon can fill with water after a few days of rain, or snow melt from Mt. Lemmon, and take people by surprise. It's happened quite a few times, and you learn to keep your ears open, cause it's comin' fast.....

Living in this desert is such a unique experience. You can go miles sometimes without seeing any water at all and then all of a sudden you turn a corner and stumble across a vibrant, green oasis with trees and soft, lush grasses and flowing water. I do miss living in places that are naturally green and verdant, but having that harsh beauty the Sonoran Desert is so well known for interrupted by sudden and surprising valleys of thick green carpet and trees with flowing water really is nearly shocking. It's truly an amazing place.
