The Dutch Cancer Council recently changed their recommendations for sunlight exposure (tanning). They now recommends 15-30 minutes tanning of arms and face every day.
Tanning in this way before 3 PM, might reduce the risk of many types of cancers, they say in their new report.
Given the overwhelming proof of the role of Vitamin-D for cancer prevention, and the fact that the main and most natural source of Vitamin-D is sunlight (UVB), the Dutch Cancer Council has finally realized that their previous advice made most people to become Vitamin-D deficient due to lack of sunlight (UVB-rays) exposure.
This video shows how to calculate when, during the year in Amsterdam, it is possible to get UVB from the sun and when you have to get it from tanning under the lamps in a solarium.
