Daniel is a really interesting guy but unfortunately misinterprets a lot of nutritional and biological facts. He starts by saying plant foods are the least natural for us to eat but in reality they were being eaten by primates long before any fermented foods were. Think about it. Is it really natural to let your food rot before eating it? Then he starts making the cell-wall argument to veganism but applies it only to juicing. Of course you can't live on juice but let's talk about fruits and vegetables: We KNOW that we are the only life-forms to destroy our food with heat before consuming them. This process has been shown conclusively to create carcinogen...a whole lot of different types in fact. These are very detrimental to our health and can be easily avoided by eating our foods raw our lightly steamed/boiled. What about the plant wall? Well if you are trying to eat foods that are difficult to digest without heat....best not eat them. Fruits and tender greens provide optimum nutri

It was good to see this, but having really enjoyed Daniel's ideas in the past, I was both a little surprised and disappointed to hear what Daniel had to say. There is definitely some sound logic in cooking some food items, but the explanation Daniel gave about animal and plant cells and getting nutrition out of them, and what is more natural for us to eat, was not only a little oversimplified, but also a bit misleading. If I was the average person watching this, my conclusion from this would be that really it is better to eat animal foods than plant foods as they are easier for us to break down. And that is totally not legit for optimal health reasons. I think a better explanation on this could be used.

Thank you for this interview. It's nice to hear an opinion that is balanced. I also feel that there is definitely a time and place for juicing, raw food, and whole foods. The state of our bodies is not static, and our diets should not be static either. We should eat depending on our health needs and goals in the moment. This could include periods of juicing, cleansing, and detoxification or could include periods of fat burning, and nutrient building. I envision my diet now as a series of cycles. There are times when my body naturally wants to cleanse, and I can support it via the way I eat. There are times when my body will naturally go into eating lighter and times when it will naturally want heavier foods. By following the body signals, and cycling through periods of cleansing, periods of shedding weight, periods of building nutrients, I feel like I can live a full and happy life, and include more foods into my diet, rather than always focusing on the exclusive nature t
