Plastics are everywhere, from drinking bottles, to the linings of some tin cans that contain our processed products, to general household containers.
Most people are unaware as to the types of plastics and what they contain. My invite is for you to gain some more knowledge by becoming aware and if necessary make the distinctions required so as to reduce the toxins entering your body and that of your fellow men/women.
Most drinking bottles are made from #1 (PETE or PET) Polyethylene Terephalate and are understood to be a one time use only! Why only once? They contain Bisphenol A (BPA) and other known endocrine disruptors.
A SMARTER choice would be to USE GLASS or if you insist on using plastic then check the label for either a: #2 HDPE (high Density Polyethylene), #4 LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) or #5 PP (Polypropylene). These SHOULD BE SAFE!
Be aware that some tins are lined in plastic and BPA. This hormone disruptor has been linked to: Breast cancer, Early puberty, increasing ‘feminising’ hormones in men and in crease oestrogen in women, reduced semen and the list goes on…
After watching/listening and reading this you are NOW EMPOWERED to make SMARTER choices and of course do your own due diligence on the material shown. As always have FUN and create a great LOVING week.

Hi Baz, you raise some interesting Q's and I'd be making up the answers! I would recommend you buy fresh, local and don't buy anything that contains plastic anything. I realise that will be challenging. The water may well have been contaminated before entering. The stat's on the side of any bottle was the analysis back in...! The bottle you refer to with be a #1 PETE. Glass is best. Enjoy

With regards to baz's bottle question, well best i can do is that i emailed the DEESIDE company on their plastic bottles and they told me they were BPA FREE. I buy glass bottles these days anyway. And thanks Magnus, also on iherb.com check out paradise herbs orac energy protein greens, i've used that a few times! It's loaded with EVERYTHING.. :-O Oh yeah i take chlorella almost everyday, had 10g in some water with 10g of barley grass powder. I'm currently drinking fresh frozen wheatgrass that i got delivered from livewheatgrass.co.uk YEAH check out the organic bean section not ALL sainsbury's have it, teh bigger stored only perhaps?

what about other plastic packaging? sainsburys cooked meats pre packed fresh meat or fish. I have checked these and they don't have any info? why?. is it law that they should put what plastic they are. Also water. Once the water has been put into plastic bottles and you buy it surely it may have already been contaminated is this right? The sainsburys caledonian water has no markings on it how do we find out for sure what plastic it is. any feedback welcome cheers

Mike Adams did a review of BOKU back in '97 or '98 and I bought their products. I love the taste even without fruit or adding anything else. The liquid does look like something taken out of your pond, but tastes superb. I'll check out your Vega Sequels, thank you. Your drink sounds tasty and healthy too. It is my understanding that Chlorella would be another great addition instead of Spirulina. My wife was in Sainsbury's this pm, but she didn't come across the organic bean variety. I'll check them out once I venture that way. I usually shop local for my veg & fruit. There's a great man who has a store in Carnforth centre on a Wed. We buy pretty much all our carb's (Veg & Fruit) for about £20 or under for the whole week! Enjoy

Hi Magnus, yeah i've been avoiding all tins and plastics. As much as i can, i make my own sports drink with coconut water, spring water and some spirulina. :-) What about that new packaging that Sainsbury's use for their organic bean varities ? I have a feeling those maybe ok ? Cardboardy material?
