Did anyone at all not see what I saw right off ??? If a teen cannot even use a battery operated tool and can not run the machines...etc. We just lost all our individual farmers. They will also die in what's coming Of course, that's the whole Real point. Please do not tell me it is not that bad...been there, bugged out...it is here in the country also. YES it IS that bad.

Just another way for the govt. to get between the parents and their children. Why don't we just fast forward 20 years and hand our kids over to DynCorp and get it over with.

I think this goes beyond just regulating whether children can work on their families farm, or even their neighbors farm. They will have to create a section of government that will oversee these new laws and ensure that there is compliance. In order to justify those expenditures in the budget they will continue regulating to keep them busy. It will be only a matter of time before they move into the family home. If they stop teens from working with power tools on the farm, how long will it be before they try to regulate any type of chore our children do? Mopping the floor, they're working with chemicals. Helping with meal preparation, there are sharp knives, a hot stove, and other unforeseen dangers. How about doing the dishes? Sounds simple enough until regulation crazy government decides that they canít risk a child getting scalded in hot water.

Apparently no one writing these bills have any farming connections. This is a easy way for govn't to create many jobs just to be checking on every farms operation. There is already too much gov't interferance with farm work. We raised 4 children on a dairy farm and they all should of had an additional graduation degrees for what they all knew about animals, crops, machinery, money management, weather, and a mess of other things. All have been on their own for at least 20 yrs and have great careers,

By working on a farm at a young age, a child will learn alot of key life lessons. There are too many lazy kids in our nation today, with all the gaming consoles out there. By kids having a job on a farm, they get out and get there hands dirty, and will stay in better shape. I have grown up on a farm, and I wouldn't be the person I am today if I wouldn't have. You can say this won't affect kids working for their parents, but the government is getting too involved. If this passes, later on they will try to get all kids banned from farms. With our economy, what is wrong with kids working? People may think it is a dangerous job, being out in the hot and cold and around all the equipment, but look at our greatgrandparents, and grandparents, they did it and turned out fine.

Perhaps they should also read the actual proposal, which states: "The proposed regulations would not apply to children working on farms owned by their parents." The proposal is also to REVISE existing regulations from 1970, which were implemented under a GOP administration.

"this would fundamentally alter the way we operate"...that is this administration's ultimate goal, to fundamentally and radically alter the American way of life. If we don't oppose this, fight this and stand up and say we will not let you tell us what to do with our own children on our own farms, if we just sit here and comply, then you can kiss "America" good bye and say hello to what used to be our mortal enemy...communism. Remember that? Remember when the "Commies" and what they stood for were the bad guys??
