Very thin evidence .. Goats do nothing but graze all day. They have to because the grasses and weeds they eat are not rich in nutrients. What is there for them to eat in the video apart from the salt stone? It is just habitual. I bet you could put pretty much anything there and they would eat it like it is the last thing on the world. Put the salt stone in grass and if they lick more than once we can talk. Better yet why not have 3 goats supplemented with mineral salt and 3 without and see which group is healthier ..

Good information about minerals, salt, & cravings. A Farmer's supplementation to animals, but not to himself, -reminds me a little about what Dr Joel Wallach went into, in "Dead Doctors Don't Lie." Interesting, - this relationship to salt craving, & the need for minerals.

I stay away from the Himalayan salt- it tends to be high in fluoride and for more on that google fluoride truth dot com. and fluoride alert. Instead I use the gray Celtic salt, it is 13% minerals. For the goats we keep them on kelp meal and an extra trace mineral block with selenium AND copper, as were are notoriously deficient in those here. And even sheep in our area have to have copper in their salt.

i have a himalayan salt tea light holder, and now whenever I pass it, I slightly bend over and lick it. Got the random idea from this video. Baaa-baaa (oh, wait, that is a sheep.) don't know what noise a goat makes. lol. tastes salty.
