About the HFCS. I read where it is Not *just* liquid sugar. It has been chemically altered so that it acts differently in the body. It's the "High" in High Fructose where it's structure has been changed. That's how that Corn Sugar commercial skews it a bit in order to be proud to say that, "Sugar is Sugar, your body can't tell the difference". Right, if HFCS was *just* corn syrup which it is not. The newer processes that fractures the chemical bonds (for some greedy reason, of course) does it. This info I read from one of The Boardroom Press' books - from 2006. Another thing I wish to mention. My Uncle died at 65 years old last year from bone cancer which rapidly spread for 18 months from undiagnosed prostate cancer. He neither drank booze or smoked but did drink 15 cans of diet coke a day for years and years. It did not take long for his bones to literally disinagrate. He just bumped his arm and it broke and even the Doctor said that there was not enough bone mass to fix and sent him

SuzCorner is very important. Consider the young and old in assisted living and other financially restricted situations where their food is chosen by others who are locked into a poor nutritional system. This will help those who are trapped, to use whatever small discretionary funds they have, to buy something that helps slow down some the damage by the cheap junk they are fed. I was thinking...since refined sugars are devoid of minerals, wouldn't trace minerals from eating seaweeds like roasted nori, or mineral drops help, too? Chia seeds cover this and more, for not a lot of money!

Nice instructive video. Just wanted to clarify a point that fructose is metabolized differently from glucose and does NOT trigger an insulin response as does glucose. A. Siegel, MD

Mike, there ARE situations where people have no choice over what they can eat. People in prison come to mind. You eat what you are served or go hungry. And of course, you are served the cheapest garbage the prison can get away with. People in suffocating relationships are another example, where the person with the wallet decides what comes into the house, and only breads and cakes are allowed to come in (yes, I know a family like that). As soon as each kid turns 18, they escape. I'm not kidding. As you can surmise from all the politics in the U.S., controlling what somebody else eats is a popular game, and is not only played on a macro scale, but on the micro scale as well. I think this is ultimate cause of reactionary anorexia and bulimia.
