According to an article in the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, presentations at the American Psychiatric Association only include research that is supports drugs studied in research. Of 278 studies presented over the past 2 years, 195 were supported by big pharma and 83 from other sources. Among those funded by the industry, none presented showed a negative result! Among the others, 7.2% were negative. There are obvious financial and personal conflicts of interest that affect both of these funders. So, how do we get accurate studies that we can trust in clinical practice?

It was suggested that all clinical trials should be registered and given a registration number so they can be tracked. Only the postive studies are published from big pharma. And with other funded studies, there's still a potential conflict of interest because they too generally want to obtain results that support their premises.
